Laurie Kotter, Voice, Flute, and Piano
Laurie is a multi-talented musician with two Bachelor's of Arts degrees from Michigan State University, one in Performance and the second in Music Education. As a seasoned Music Educator with over two decades of experience, Laurie founded M.I.B. after operating a successful instruction business for over 10 years in Los Angeles. Laurie is an accomplished vocalist in many styles of music, from Jazz to Classical. Laurie's voice has been featured in numerous broadcast ad campaigns in Los Angeles. She has performed across the country and has been recognized with several awards. She has also studied voice with top voice coaches both in Los Angeles and Baltimore. She currently performs with an a cappella trio, and "After Hours," a vocal jazz ensemble. Laurie's talent as a musician is wide ranging, and her mastery of the flute is no exception. From the Michigan State University Jazz and Wind Ensembles to the numerous Jazz recording projects she participated in while performing in Los Angeles, to the recognition she has received in the Baltimore Chamber Ensemble competition as a finalist for classical performance, Laurie truly is a talented flautist. She shares her passion and skill on the flute with M.I.B. students while keeping a schedule of performances for audiences all over the Mid-Atlantic region. Laurie is also a highly skilled instructor in all styles on the piano, and has taught piano students of all ages and levels of ability for her entire career. |
